(no subject)

I just cleaned half my house and it makes me feel really happy to finally have it be at least not filthy. I get lazy after a 15-hour workday and don't put my stuff away when I get home, so it kind of piles up; after two weeks it can get pretty ugly. Tomorrow I have laundry, bathroom and kitchen but those are not as much as clearing out my living space.

I need to update all my devices. My phone is an iPhone 4 that I dropped a few months ago, and now the power button is broken and the battery life is shot. My computer is a Sony Vaio VGN-CR220E laptop, which is 7 years old and runs on Vista, the battery is more or less dead so its portability is limited to the power cord length. There's nothing actually wrong with it, it's a little slow on occasion but not enough to interfere with usage.

So because my laptop is still usable for anything that requires true multitasking or file manipulation, I'm thinking I'll get a tablet for general usage. ...Actually I'm not thinking, I've pretty much decided. I just need to wait until Thursday to make sure I have the cash, which I'm 95% will work out. Jeryck says he can get me a 15% discount on an iPad Air, which was pretty much the deciding factor. I'm not going to bother with cellular because I have a phone if I can't get Wi-Fi. And really I'll be using it at home and at work; both places have Wi-Fi, I just need the password at work which I'm confident I can get from someone.

I have my heart set on it now, I calculated how much money I'll need for bills this month and if I pay everything but rent with this paycheck AND buy my iPad I'll still be left with $150. I have three weeks to make $650 for rent, which shouldn't be too hard.

I need a new phone at some point too though. I want an iPhone 5S. I'm an iOS whore, which is funny because I don't like Apple computers. I can wait on it though, it'll be easier to save up the money for and if I have a tablet I won't be using my phone as much.
