(no subject)

Talked to Nate, he was cool with it all. So I will be in charge of mid and end of month inventory, as well as informing Fernando of product ordering for the kitchen. Nate said he'd push to get me a raise. My edumacation at the sushi bar is moving forward I feel, so there's no question I will be able to do that in time, so seeing as I'm taking on more responsibilities, why not?

Eloy came to work today and he is not doing very well. I admit I practically grilled Fernando with "Is Eloy coming in? What did he say? So he said he's coming in because he needs the money, which basically means he's actually not okay to work, right?" And Fernando was like, "What are you, some kind of fucking cop?" But really, Eloy should definitely not be working. Apparently it was one of those out of the blue things, where there's no specific cause (as in, 'I dropped a ladder on it' or whatever), and it's probably he's just working too much and too hard. He did some prep and left pretty soon after.

Nate was also telling me he's going to try to get tickets to Mutual's tradeshow in October. He was telling me they break down a whole yellowtail tuna in front of you, let you taste the different parts, they have a sake tasting, and you can buy knives on sale and they'll stamp it for you as well. I got super excited. I'll need at least two different kinds of knives if I'm going to be on the sushi bar (a yanagiba and a usuba) so that sounds like a good place to get them. Judy wants the best for her buck. I'm super stoked. It's in Pasadena so maybe I'll even be there already, but Nate says he's going to try to get a couple hotel rooms for everyone who wants to go. This sounds so fucking awesome I want to kill myself already.
